Wheeler Dealer - Sweden Consul General of Sweden in Sri Lanka - Christoper Noel Vishkaran Selvanayagam

The current Sweden Consul General of Sweden in Sri Lanka Christoper Noel Vishkaran Selvanayagam, a Sri Lankan businessman is misusing his Honorary Consul General of Sweden post to explore his private business in Sri Lanka. Neol Selvanayagam is a former LTTE businessman in Sri Lanka and Germany. Earlier, the Swedish Foreign Ministry decided to close the Swedish Embassy in Colombo. And now Swedish government has appointed number one crook in Sri Lanka as Sweden Consul General of Sweden in Sri Lanka (Noel Vishkaran Selvanayagam).

Recently, Sweden Consul General of Sweden in Sri Lanka Christoper Noel Vishkaran Selvanayagam tried to bribe Minister Champika Ranawaka for a business deal and after the incident ,Minister Champika Ranawaka has managed to remove both officials from LECO and a special investigation which was commenced to the alleged corruption by the CID. Noel Selvanayagam has built hatred towards Minister Reawake since the minister had not approved a power project moted by him.

The former friend of Ranil Wickramasinghe and the UNP, businessman Noel Selvanayagam. In previous years prior to the ceasefire agreement used to accompany Ranil in such trips specially to USA and Europe. further Selvanayagam is a good friend of Minister G L Peries, and has a company in Germany managed by his friend. She is a girl. Why on earth the government of Sri Lanka, need help of a Tamil businessman and wheeler dealer, However, using the Tamil businessman to seal deals in Germany for the President and the country sounds rather bizzare, when the current German chancellor herself has refused a meeting with the President Rajapakse on his resent trip to Germany due to involvement with Noel Selvanayagam. Selvanayagam is a person who has been a member of several trade delegations led by Minister G. L. Peiris, "He was  involved big time corruption in Germany to obtain relief for Tsunami victims."

Recently, Selvanayagam manged to secure deal with Suzlon Energy Limited (SEL)  to his Sri Lanka-based Senok Group(chairman –Noel Selvanayagam)  to supply 10 units of Suzlon’s S88 2.1 Mw wind turbine generators, aggregating 21 Mw of wind power capacity. The project will be commissioned in two phases and to be completed by May 2012.Suzlon had earlier supplied a 10 Mw wind energy project to the Senok Group and the latest 21 Mw project will come up alongside the existing project site in Puttalm district of Sri Lanka..

Last month, Noel Selvanayagam got into aviation business in Sri Lanka by forcing the ministers and government, using his post of Sweden Consul General of Sweden in Sri -Lanka. Further, he is promoting his other businesses also through the Consul General office. Further we learnt that, Currently he is involve in human trafficking to Sweden and Germany ,it’s up to Sweden government to keep such culprits who is tarnishing Swedish image in Sri Lanka.
